Nationwide continues to prepare for and respond to potential impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) by taking steps to ensure that we’re able to protect you and your pets with extraordinary care during this challenging time.
Nationwide’s efforts to flatten the curve
In support of the need for social distancing to help flatten the curve, we’ve activated our work-from-home policy for associates and are well-prepared to handle business as usual. However, we appreciate your patience as we anticipate higher call volume.
Pets and COVID-19
We know that many of you are concerned about the health of your pets during this pandemic. The most up-to-date information we have regarding COVID-19 and pets is from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC): “At this time, there is no evidence that companion animals, including pets, can spread COVID-19.”
Caring for your pet while social distancing
For our members who have pet health questions but are unable to visit the veterinarian, our 24/7 vethelpline® is always available at no charge. For more details, log in to your Nationwide Pet Account Access page at my.petinsurance.com.
How you can help pets
Many animal shelters are feeling the pressure, with fewer adoptions and fosters, and the potential of increased surrenders as time goes on. If you have the space, consider fostering or even adopting a pet; not only will you be helping a four-legged friend in need, they’ll also keep you company while you’re socially distanced from your human friends!
Now, more than ever, we appreciate the trust you’ve put in us to protect your pets. We’ll continue to update this page as we learn more. You can also check our Facebook page for updates: facebook.com/NationwidePet.
