Life is a Beach for Pampered Pooch Pammy Lee
Six years ago, Jacquelyn Caccese of Phillipsburg, N.J., was honored and humbled when she was nominated by her local animal hospital to care for the abandoned Shih Tzu puppy that was recently left on the office doorstep. Due to her immense respect and admiration for actress Pamela Anderson and her compassion for animals, Jacquelyn chose to name her adopted dog Pammy Lee after the blonde bombshell.
The tribute to the former Baywatch star didn’t stop with just a name. Jacquelyn has given her Shih Tzu Pamela Anderson dolls, toys and even throws Pammy a birthday party every year with a different Pamela Anderson theme.
The dedication to Pamela Anderson has transformed Pammy into something of a celebrity herself. Over the last few years, she was a finalist in a celebrity lookalike contest and finished second in a Fall Fashion Show held at the local Petco.
“Pammy goes everywhere with me: the doctor, the store, even the mall,” said Jacquelyn. “Everyone knows Pammy. When I shop at the mall it’s hard for me to leave because the girls working there all want to play with her.”
Word of the tribute has even spread to the celebrity herself, with Pamela Anderson sending Jacquelyn and Pammy a personally-kissed picture and autograph. “Pam thought it was adorable that I named my little Shih Tzu after her,” said Jacquelyn. “It’s nice knowing that Pamela is aware of what an inspiration she has been to both of us.”
Jacquelyn is meticulous about Pammy’s wardrobe and hygiene, bathing her daily and dressing her up in different outfits. The vigilant care and pampering extends to her health as well. “Pammy has been insured with VPI since Day One,” said Jacquelyn. “VPI gives me peace of mind.”
