Famously, a Big Mac is made extra special by the added tangy touch of secret sauce. While pet names aren’t always great with mayo—we tried, don’t ask—they sometimes need a little wacky sauce of their own. Take for example, a guinea pig who goes by Grimace From McDonald’s.
“I'd been thinking a lot about Grimace, the actual McDonald's character, for a while for reasons I can't really pinpoint,” says Nationwide member Keenan M., in a statement that sounds like beautiful music to our Wacky Pet Names ears. “This was before the Grimace birthday shake even came out. Once I decided to bring Grimace the guinea pig home, I just knew my thinking about that name all the time had a higher purpose.”
Luckily, Keenan soon learned that Grimace lived up to his wacky name. Keenan says, “I often describe Grimace as ‘Kramer-coded’—he has the same energy as Kramer from Seinfeld, from his constant jumpiness to him always looking shocked no matter what's happening (or not happening). If he had the ability, he would burst through your door unannounced while shaking.”
