A nod to Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osborne, this English bull terrier’s name was inspired by a love of Birmingham’s Prince of Darkness. “My daughter came up with it,” says Nationwide member and metalhead mamma, Candelaria M.
This high-energy pup is all about stage presence, darting from room to room to the delight of his fans. “When he gets the zoomies,” Candelaria says, "he ricochets and bounces off any and all surfaces—nothing and no one person is safe.
Ozzy does more than just “Bark at the Moon,” though—he bounds and bucks when it comes time for treats. “He bucks like a bull for snacks,” Candelaria says. “He’s jumped clear over my mother-in-law’s head while she was sitting on the sofa—like Free Willy!”
Much like his namesake frontman, Ozzy Pawsborne is also known for, uh, taking a bite out of some unconventional things. Candelaria recalls, “He was dubbed the ‘Land Shark’ as a puppy, because he ate everything. And we had to worry about him lurking and waiting for something to drop or be at his reach. He’s grown out of that, thankfully!” While Ozzy has somewhat mellowed out with age, his family is still happy to have him protected by Nationwide in case the unexpected happens.
