When it comes to finding the right wacky name for a new pet, you can’t force it— you can, however, use The Force. That’s what Nationwide member and Star Wars fan Kim S. did when naming her beagle pup: Luke Skybarker.
“When arriving at the rescue, we noticed his name was name Solo because he was the only male,” Kim remembers. “We soon realized he was more than that. He was going to be a Jedi master with many adventures, traveling the galaxy.”
No space epic is complete without high drama, and for Luke everyday puppy life is no different. “Luke has to choose between the Light Side and the Dark Side daily,” Kim says. “When food arrives, he tries using the force to get what he wants.” But at the end of the day, his nature is to be heroic: “He also protects his sister, Princess Leia, from harm and unwanted intruders by sky barking,” Kim adds.
Like the family’s other Jedi pups before him, Luke is protected by Nationwide. Kim says, “He protects others from the Dark Side like Nationwide protects those watching over him. With paw extended Luke says, this is the insurance you are looking for.”
