When pulling off a big move, it’s important to stick the landing—or miss it in a way that inspires wacky shenanigans, as illustrated by this mixed shorthair kitty.
“Pro Skater came into my home with all the energy of a little sibling, immediately trying to impress his older brother cat by doing sloppy jumps and spins off the cat shelves,” says Nationwide member Sprout F. “These ‘sick tricks’ prompted me first to call him Pro Skater Tony Hawk as a joke—a joke that ended up sticking.”
Of course, who are we to guess whether Pro Skater is even a cat at all. Sprout adds, “The fact that the human Tony Hawk is notorious for being unrecognizable in public cemented his name because, for all we know, my Tony Hawk could be the real Tony Hawk.”
Pro skateboarders understand the value of protection—or they learn it quickly on the vert ramp. For their off-the-wall cat, Sprout skipped the helmet and pads and got Nationwide pet insurance. “I'm working a job that offers benefits for the first time in my life,” Sprout says. “I wanted to take this opportunity to better care for my cats’ health.”
