For Dee Dee Milbrant, meeting her shelter cat was love at first sight. The adorable ginger cat was being called Jean Clawed Van Damme, a name clearly worth keeping.
With a name that packs such a big punch, we thought it only fitting that Jean Clawed Van Damme secure a nomination in our 2019 Wacky Pet Name competition. Ironically though, Jean Clawed has smaller features than his action-star name would suggest.
“His name and his adorable scrawny face is what drew me to go meet him in the first place,” Dee Dee says. Though she sometimes calls him Jake, Dee Dee loves calling Jean Clawed by his full name. “People generally look at me like I’m nuts when I say his name,” she notes.
Since Dee Dee has many pets, she quickly realized the value of pet insurance and has been a Nationwide member for years now.
She explains, “I knew I would always do what I could do to care for my animals and wanted the peace of mind knowing I could afford proper care.”
