The majority of the names that made the top 10 dog and cat lists also made the list in 2012. Names that are trending upward include “Coco” and “Lola” among dogs, and “Jack,” “Luna” and “Milo” for cats.
While human names continue to dominate VPI’s pet name popularity, there are plenty of pet owners who opt for a moniker of the less conventional variety, such as “Sir Knuckles da Dragon” and “Cheeto Burrito.” To view some of the more creative monikers selected for VPI’s Top 10 Most Unusual Pet Names of 2013, visit www.wackypetnames.com.
