With over 1,200 insured dogs and cats named “Oscar” it’s no secret that movie goers love pets. So in honor of the 87th Academy Awards Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. (VPI), the nation’s first and largest provider of pet health insurance, analyzed its database of more than 525,000 insured pets to find the top 10 most common Oscar nominee related pet names. And the nominees are (total number of pets sharing name in parenthesis):

Honorable mentions go out to the six pets named “Benedict” (Cumberbatch) and the four pets named “Meryl” (Streep). This year’s nominated movie titles also had some popularity amongst pet owners with 18 pets named “Sniper” and 11 pets named “Selma.”
