November is National Pet Cancer Awareness Month

Since launching National Pet Cancer Awareness Month in 2005, VPI has made a continued effort to raise awareness of the number one disease-related killer of dogs and cats in the United States. This year is no different as throughout the month of November, VPI will donate $5 to the Animal Cancer Foundation (ACF), up to $10,000, for every photo, story or statistic shared on TwitterInstagram and Facebook using #CurePetCancer. Here’s how you can help spread the word:

Post Your Pet Pictures

Show us your reason for supporting the campaign by posting a picture of your pet on Twitter or Instagram using #CurePetCancer, or post it directly on our Facebook page.

Share Your Pet’s Story

Honor the furry survivors, the current fighters and the ones we’ve lost by sharing their stories on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #CurePetCancer.

Show ‘em the Stats

Early detection is key. Get sharable pet cancer statistics, detection tips, video clips and infographics by visiting www.curepetcancer.com. For every pet cancer stat you share using #CurePetCancer, we’ll donate $5 to the Animal Cancer Foundation.

Don’t Have a Social Profile?

You can still help raise funds for the Animal Cancer Foundation by uploading your stories and pet photos directly at www.curepetcancer.com.

Other Ways to Show Your Support and Learn More

VPI is also partnering with the ACF to also host the seventh annual VPI K9K Pet Cancer Awareness Walk on Nov. 9, 2013 in Long Beach, Calif., to raise funds for pet cancer research. To date, VPI has raised more than $160,000 to benefit the ACF.

Additionally, VPI has created a pet cancer infographic with pet cancer facts, warning signs and ways to help reduce your pet’s risk.

Remember to check the Hambone Nation blog all month long for pet cancer detection tips, statistics, survivor stories and much more.
