Pomeranian, Baxter

Baxter’s Party Animal “Tail”

Baxter’s Emergency Survival Story

Our Pomeranian, Baxter, will eat anything he can get his mouth on.

One day, my husband left a beer on the patio table while he went to answer the phone. Baxter jumped on the table, knocked over the beer and drank it off the tabletop. By the time my husband came back, the beer was gone.

When Baxter began to stumble and fall over we rushed him to the vet. He was put on an IV and had his kidneys flushed to get the alcohol out of his system. A precautionary liver test days later ensured he had all his enzymes and a functioning liver.

Baxter recovered and, fortunately, I had the foresight to get VPI, because a few weeks after submitting our claim we received our reimbursement. For me, having insurance isn’t about never having to pay for my pet’s vet bills or saving money, but getting help with the things I know I will have to pay for, and I like knowing that help is there. Thank you, VPI!

*Veterinary fees vary state to state, per your veterinarian’s discretion.

**The benefit allowance amount replenishes with each new incident or with each new annual policy renewal, depending on the policy type selected. An incident is a new condition that causes you to consult a veterinarian. Chronic or ongoing conditions, such as allergic dermatitis, are considered to be one incident no matter how many times a veterinarian is consulted.

VPI pays 90% of covered veterinary expenses up to the benefit schedule allowance, or 90% of your covered invoice amount, whichever is less, minus your $50 per-incident deductible.
