We join the Nationwide® family of companies, one of the largest insurance and financial services corporations in the world.

We celebrate 25 years of protecting America's pets.

In August, we launch two levels of enhanced preventive care coverage with CareGuard® Core and Premier.

2007

Maintaining our position as the largest pet health insurance provider in the nation, we surpass the one million mark in number of pets insured.

2006

We join forces with one of the nation's largest pet food manufacturers to build awareness of the importance of both a nutritious diet and regular veterinary care for maintaining good pet health.

2003

In response to growing demand, we become the first pet insurance company to offer coverage for birds, rabbits, reptiles and other exotic pets through our Avian & Exotic Pet Plan.

2000

We become the first pet insurance company to offer a group discount, available through participating companies and organizations.

1999

We become the first pet insurance company to introduce routine care coverage for wellness treatments such as dental care, annual vaccinations and heartworm prevention.

1998

We become the first company to begin selling pet insurance policies nationwide.

We sell our first policy to TV's Lassie, then quickly sell a multitude of policies throughout California as pet insurance skyrockets in popularity.
