Tempurra

When Carrie Morich of San Diego, Calif. met her Oriental shorthair kitten, a name came to mind right away: “Tempurra.” “I saw her and it was instant,” explained Carrie. “Tempurra is the perfect name for her.”

Although “Tempurra” is unique, Carrie doesn’t believe in forcing an unusual name just for the sake of being different. “I like names that are unique, but I also feel like animals kind of pick their own name,” said Carrie. “Some of my pets have had more common names. I have a cat named Chelsea because it just fits her.”

According to Carrie, whether her pets’ names are common or unusual, they are each unique in their own special way. “Tempurra will jump from the ground into my arms if I pat my chest,” said Carrie. “She’s the first cat I’ve ever had that’s done that.” With Carrie at one point providing a home to eight cats, Tempurra’s distinctive jump is certainly unique. When asked what inspired her to purchase VPI Pet Insurance, Carrie exclaimed, “I have five cats for gosh sakes! I would rather have pet insurance and not use it than not have it. I always recommend VPI; I just sleep better knowing I have it.”
