Snazzel
For some pet owners, it takes just one look at their new canine companion to conjure up the perfect name, while others take a more calculated approach. Mary Ellen Cornish of Nutley, N.J., knew exactly what she wanted for her new pup – right down to the consonant. “My other dog’s name is Scuffer, so I wanted to go with an ‘S’ name that also had a double consonant,” Mary Ellen explained. “That’s how I came up with Snazzel; Snazzel the miniature schnauzer.”
While Mary Ellen realizes that her naming strategy is less-than-common, she encourages other pet owners to take a letter-driven approach. “If you like certain letters or the way they sound together, you should use them,” Mary Ellen said. “I think that pet names should be fun and should fit their personalities.” According to Mary, her schnauzer is a “Snazzel” indeed. “Snaz has long eyelashes and a shiny coat. She likes people a lot and she’s very prim and proper,” Mary Ellen added.
With Mary Ellen taking such careful and deliberate steps to name her pets, it’s no surprise that she takes her responsibilities as a pet parent very seriously. In order to ensure the best possible care for Scuffer and Snazzel, Mary Ellen purchased VPI Pet Insurance after her son recommended it. She’s happy she took her son’s advice and was pleased to report, “I’ve had a very good experience with VPI.”
