Shatsi Popo
“Shatsi Popo” might sound more like a board game than a cat name, but the true meaning behind it is sweet as pie. According to Darlene Kohler of San Diego, Calif., she first learned about the word “popo” from the hit television series, “Lost.” “My husband was watching an episode and [the character] Sun Kim explained that the word ‘popo’ means kiss in Korean,” Darlene said. She immediately liked ‘Popo’ for a name and wanted to find another special word that would go nicely with it.
Research led her to the word “shatsi,” which means darling in German. “I had named my male Persian prior to picking him up,” Darlene said. “The first night we brought him home, he snuggled with me and kissed me on my ear. I knew that ‘Shatsi’ Popo was the perfect name for him.”
Shatsi isn’t the only pet that has won Darlene’s heart over the years. “I have owned six cats prior to Shatsi and all of them had chronic conditions, which cost me a lot of money,” said Darlene. “My pets deserve the best care I can possibly provide for them. I now have VPI Pet Insurance to assist with those expenses. Good health care means a longer life.”
