Boogey Man

Pet owners often take their time studying their furry friend’s personality before settling on the perfect name. According to Jennifer Vallis of Harlingen, Texas, however, it was no time at all before she realized her newest addition was a real booger. “He used to get into lots of trouble, so ‘Booger’ was a fit from the get-go,” said Jennifer. “‘Booger’ eventually evolved into ‘Boogey,’ until finally he became ‘Boogey Man.’”

Lucky for Jennifer, her mixed-breed cat has since shifted his energy from creating chaos to learning complicated tricks like opening doors and cabinets, and playing fetch. Though she typically enjoys people’s reaction to his unusual name, there was one instance in particular that caused her to blush.

“He got out once and I started calling his name so he would to come back,” admitted Jennifer. “People were definitely looking at me funny when they realized I was yelling ‘Booger,’ across the yard.” Despite her affinity for playful pet names, Jennifer doesn’t toy around with her cat’s health.
