Maxine, the Canine Garbage Disposal
Maxine’s Emergency Survival Story
Maxine seems to want to eat everything in sight. After eating a cornhusk, she started throwing up green bile. We took her to the vet, who said she probably wouldn’t make it through the night without surgery. Maxine was miserable.
Having pet health insurance made the decision to proceed with surgery much easier. The reimbursement from VPI was a welcome relief.
We’re keeping a close eye on Maxine these days. She may get into trouble, but we’re thankful for her and thankful that VPI could help us save her life.

*Veterinary fees vary state to state, per your veterinarian’s discretion.
**The benefit allowance amount replenishes with each new incident or with each new annual policy renewal, depending on the policy type selected. An incident is a new condition that causes you to consult a veterinarian. Chronic or ongoing conditions, such as allergic dermatitis, are considered to be one incident no matter how many times a veterinarian is consulted.
†VPI pays 90% of covered veterinary expenses up to the benefit schedule allowance, or 90% of your covered invoice amount, whichever is less, minus your $50 per-incident deductible.
