Jewel’s Precious Extra Time
Jewel’s Emergency Survival Story
When Jewel started having epileptic seizures, we were told she had days to live. Several lab tests, MRIs and spinal taps later she was diagnosed with necrotizing encephalitis, a rare and terminal brain infection. She spent the next year battling her brain infection, patiently withstanding a series of treatments.
The medical procedures were costly and would’ve been a financial burden had we not had VPI Pet Insurance. VPI made it possible for Jewel to spend an extra year with us.

*Veterinary fees vary state to state, per your veterinarian’s discretion.
**The benefit allowance amount replenishes with each new incident or with each new annual policy renewal, depending on the policy type selected. An incident is a new condition that causes you to consult a veterinarian. Chronic or ongoing conditions, such as allergic dermatitis, are considered to be one incident no matter how many times a veterinarian is consulted.
†VPI pays 90% of covered veterinary expenses up to the benefit schedule allowance, or 90% of your covered invoice amount, whichever is less, minus your $50 per-incident deductible.
