VPI Standard Plan for Dogs

The VPI Standard Plan is designed for those looking for a more economical coverage plan. It covers the same conditions as the
VPI Superior Plan, but provides a more modest level of reimbursement for your dog’s eligible veterinary expenses such as accidental injuries, emergencies and illnesses, including cancer. This plan is ideal for those who want peace of mind yet seek more affordable coverage for their dog’s veterinary treatments. Let’s take a look at a real-life example of how this plan pays out:

Real-Life Example

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rupture

Lola had an ACL rupture

Want to know how a VPI insurance policy can help? Here is an example of an actual claim filed by a VPI policyholder.

Lola, a three-year-old Boxer in New Jersey, recently suffered from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture, and required surgery. Although her owner has a Superior Plan, this is how her claim would've been reimbursed under the VPI Standard Plan.

VPI Enhanced Cancer Rider

VPI’s plans already include cancer coverage benefits for conditions such as skin cancer, bone cancer and leukemia. For those seeking more protection, VPI offers a cancer rider, which increases the plan’s reimbursement benefits. This optional supplemental coverage is available during the online enrollment process.

*Veterinary fees vary state to state, per your veterinarian’s discretion.

**The benefit allowance amount replenishes with each new incident or with each new annual policy renewal, depending on the policy type selected. An incident is a new condition that causes you to consult a veterinarian. Chronic or ongoing conditions, such as allergic dermatitis, are considered to be one incident no matter how many times a veterinarian is consulted.

VPI pays 90% of covered veterinary expenses up to the benefit schedule allowance, or 90% of your covered invoice amount, whichever is less, minus your $50 per-incident deductible.
